The story

Four classical love myths painted in enamel around a single watch case — the Judgment of Paris keeping the hour. The watch as a private gallery: mythology carried against the heart with a movement inside, a narrative complication before the word existed. The case told stories; the dial only told time. The Rijksmuseum's imaging renders the enamel at a scale where individual brushstrokes of the 1650s stay legible on paper.
