Terms of sale
The Complication sells made-to-order reproductions of public-domain and open-access horological works. All prices are in US dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Because every physical piece is printed to order, orders enter production promptly and cancellation is only possible before production begins. Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned for change of mind. If a piece arrives damaged, defective, or less than perfect, write to paintedalways@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery and we will reprint or refund it — your choice. The full policy is at Refunds.
Digital downloads are delivered after payment and are non-refundable once delivered. They are sold for personal use; the underlying works are in the public domain (or open-access under the license stated on each piece’s page — see Reproductions & licensing), and nothing in these terms restricts your rights in those underlying works.
The Complication is unaffiliated with any watch manufacturer, past or present. Historical trade names appearing within reproduced antique artworks appear solely as part of the historical artifact.

These terms are a working draft for the house’s launch and will be reviewed before paid traffic.
